QUICK TIP: You Don’t Have to Do it All or Do it Perfectly
We expect ourselves to do way more than anyone else expects of us or we of them. We create ideas of what it means to be a “good mom” or an “involved dad” and we lose track of what really matters- connecting with our children. On our death beds we will not remember what we made for the bake sale or how many activities we carpooled to. We will remember the relationship we built with our children. Take a load off and practice delegating!
Applications: Instead of staying up until midnight baking cookies for a class party, buy some from the store. Have mounding piles of laundry? Enlist the help of your partner or children.
